Things to Do

What to do in NYC on July 4th

Enjoy 4th of July the NYC way!

No matter the holiday, NYC offers some of the best events out there. From dinner cruises to brunch parties and views of the fireworks - here’s what the city has in store for us this 4th of July.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks is one of the most anticipated fireworks - and after 2020’s hiatus, they’re back! In a press conference, Mayor Bill de Blasio said “I'm happy to announce that America's biggest fireworks display is back. They are bringing the full-scale fireworks show as we have loved it for decades and decades back to New York City for all of us to enjoy. This will be the biggest show yet. Literally, Macy's is putting together the biggest fireworks display they've ever had.”

This year, over 65,000 shells will be launched off of five different barges on the East River. The fireworks will start at 9:25 pm and will go on for a whole 25 minutes.

You’ll be able to catch the fireworks from many different spots around the city - and if you want to stay at home, then tune into NBC between 8 pm - 10 pm.

The Day Party with Doja Cat

Celebrate Independence Day at Coney Island with an exclusive live performance by Doja Cat. The event will also feature DJs like DJ Spade, DJ Suss One, DJ Ria, and more.

The Greens

While The Greens hasn’t specifically announced an event dedicated to the day yet, its rooftop has one of the best views out there. The outdoor space covers the entire roof of Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport, and you and your friends get your own personal ‘pod’ for the night. Order an array of cocktails from their menu. Lately, we’ve been loving the French Trotter, made with Grey Goose Poire, St Germain, lime juice, and ginger beer. You can also try their signature The Greens 75, which is made with Sipsmith Gin, lemon juice, Simple Syrup, sparkling wine, and a lemon twist.

Did we mention they also do a mean Summer Crush frozen cocktail? The Summer Crush is made with Rosé S'il Vous Plaît, Grey Goose Essence Strawberry Lemongrass, simple syrup, Strawberry.

Plus, the food menu also has some mouthwatering dishes on it, like the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, mini lobster rolls, sunflower seed hummus, and many other equally delectable options.
