Cocktails to Watch the Grammies With

Sip on these cocktails as you get ready to view this year’s Grammy Awards where the music sensations will be attending from home, just like you.

The 63rd Grammy Awards are almost upon us and no matter who you are planning to watch them with - your couch, a neighbor turned lockdown friend, or your friends who sing too loud and out of tune, we’re here to spike up your evening. 

This year’s Grammy Awards has an all-star lineup of performances by Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Poppy, Taylor Swift, and we can’t keep cool anymore!

The nominees this year along with making great music also represent social issues worth standing up for. Beyonce’s Black Parade amongst many of her other tracks has been nominated for four awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Other nominees are Post Malone for Circles, Doja Cat for her representation of women’s pleasure in Say So, and Justin Bieber for Yummy. Get ready to root for your favorite singers, songwriters, and musicians to take the stage and hold that much sought-after gilded gramophone on March 14. 

We’ve curated a list of cocktails inspired by some of our favorite artists for you to sip on, clink to, and take a shot of as you rejoice the wins of your favorites, and groove to some show-stopping performances. 


Rockstar Martini

Inspired by the viral TikTok dance song that brought out everyone’s inner Charli D’Amelio, the Rockstar Martini is made with Kinsale Gin, an award-winning gin that was awarded ‘Gin of the Year’ at the Bartender’s Spirits Awards

Up for three awards, this year — Record of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song — Rockstar by DaBaby ft Roddy Ricch is surely worth clinking our glasses to. 

Ingredients:
- 2 ounces gin (Try Kinsale Gin)
- 1-ounce vermouth
- Ice
- Green olive or lemon twist

1. Pour gin and vermouth into a shaker filled partway with ice.
2. Stir vigorously with a long-handled cocktail spoon for at least 30 seconds.
3. Strain liquid into a chilled martini glass. Garnish.

Harry’s Wild Watermelon Limeade

The repetitive words and catchy tune aren’t the only reason making Watermelon Sugar a favorite with both kids and adults. Former One Direction singer Harry Styles, belted out this summer classic in his signature style making it top the charts, reaching No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 15.

Get ready to watch the English singer open the Grammy Awards this year with his performance with a drink that has his name all over it. Crafted with USA Spirits Ratings’ silver-medalist SoCal Silver Rum and plenty of Harry fan love, sip on this cocktail to cheer the singer’s nomination for Best Pop Solo Performance

Ingredients: 
- 1 small seedless watermelon
- 2 medium limes*
- 2 shots of white rum (Try SoCal Silver Rum)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1-liter club soda

1. Slice 3/4 of seedless watermelon into cubes, reserving one quarter for juice, and place in a bag and freeze for several hours or preferably overnight.
2. In a strainer over a bowl, press the remaining chunks of fresh watermelon with a muddler or flat surface until most of the juice is extracted.
3. Slice limes into quarters and squeeze the juice of one fruit into each serving glass, throwing the limes into the glass along with it. (Only use half of a lime instead of 2 medium limes if you prefer a drink that's not as tart.)
4. Add 1 tbsp sugar and one shot (2 Tbsp // 30 ml) of white rum to each serving glass and muddle until well mixed.
5. Fill to the brim with watermelon ice cubes, add a healthy splash of watermelon juice (about 1/4 cup), and top off with club soda.
6. Stir, garnish with a lime wedge and serve with a straw.

With the 'Bursting Like Dynamite' shot made with pop rocks and award-winning South Fork Vodka [Double Gold Medal, Vodka of the Year, Vodka Producer Of The Year at the 2020 Bartenders Spirits Awards], watch the boys bring the fire and set the night alight at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Don't forget to take a shot every time the beat drops.

Ingredients:
- 1 Part Vodka (Try South Fork Vodka)
- 1 Part Blue Curacao
- 1 Part Lime Juice
- Corn Syrup
- Pop Rocks

1. Rim edge of shot glasses with corn syrup and pop rocks. Set aside.
2. In an ice-filled glass combine vodka, lime juice, and blue curacao. Shake well.
3. Strain mix into garnished shot glasses.

Green Thunder

Climbing to Number 1 on the R&B Songwriters’ Chart, her album Chilombo’s smooth melodies won fans over. Here’s toasting to this year’s host and her song with John Legend — Lightning and Thunder. Nominated for the Best R&B Performance of the year, nothing describes thunder and Aiko better than a shot of award-winning Absinthe mixed with a stellar Champagne. 

Ingredients:
- Chilled absinthe (Try Le Rêve Organic Molecular Absinthe, 93 points, USA Spirits Ratings)
- Chilled champagne (Try Champagne Henriot Blanc de Blancs, 92 points, USA Wine Ratings)

1. Pour absinthe in a glass halfway through.
2. Top with champagne 
3. Garnish with a rose

Inspired by Sarah Jarosz’s Hometown, nominated for the Best American Roots Song, this LIIT does justice to the lyrics and sonics of her song exploring the memories from her Texas hometown. 

Ingredients:
- 15 ml Gin (Try Bar Hill Gin, 100 points, Bartender’s Spirits Awards)
- 15 ml Vodka (Try Singularity Organic Molecular Vodka, 92 points, USA Spirits Ratings)
- 15 ml Tequila (Try Suave Joven, 92 points, USA Spirits Ratings)
- 15 ml White Rum (Try El Encanto Silver Rum, 92 points, Bartender’s Spirits Awards)
- 15 ml Triple Sec
- 25 ml Lemon Juice
- 30 ml Gomme syrup
- A splash of Cola

1. Begin by chilling highball glass with soda water and ice. 
2. Add all ingredients (except the cola) into a mixing tin. 
3. Add ice to the tin and shake for 10 seconds.
4. Add fresh ice to a highball glass and add a splash of cola. 
5. Strain the ingredients into glass. Add lemon slice and straw.
